HSPC Health Architects is excited to see the opening of one of the Gold Coast’s newest private medical facility, Robina Private Hospital.
The HSPC designed building is the result of another successful collaboration with Healthe Care Australia featuring a range of private mental health and medical services for inpatients, day patients and outpatients. The 90-bed hospital is described by Healthe Care’s Michelle Ballard as “a supportive environment to help people on the road to recovery and wellness”. The hospital will provide specialised mental health, medical and rehabilitation services; upholding Healthe Care’s exceptional reputation in the private healthcare sector.
In just 22 months, HSPC successfully took the project from it’s initial master planning through to its completion. As lead architect on the project, our design direction was to ensure this greenfield development met not only current trends, but future directions for successful mental health facilities.
A key focus of the team was to create a design that allowed for penetration of natural light deep into the building forming an environment that, even at the most basic level, works to eliminates stressors. The planning allows for a safe, secure facility that met the observational requirements of the staff. The use of colour and texture throughout the interior was selected to ensure the spaces had a calm resolve. These client-responsive initiatives are integral to HSPC’s ongoing reputation for creating spaces that are supportive of all those who come in contact with it.
This was a great team effort between client, Architect and builder (Woollams) that produced Robina’s first private hospital, under budget and with a significantly reduced time frame.
